Summary
Dr. Jenkins is an experienced family nurse practitioner and educator
involved in research on the application of informatics to primary care
practice, education, and evaluation.
Dr. Jenkins'
current research provides electronic documentation of Family Nurse
Practitioner patient encounters to enhance a national database that
can be used for the evaluation of quality and effectiveness of care.
In the past, she has determined appropriate quality outcome measures
for primary care Nurse Practitioner practice, consulted in the development
of an in-house electronic health record, and studied quality outcomes
obtained from electronic records and from paper charts.
